2nd Design workshop conducted successfully – 29 April 2025

The 2nd episode in its series, the design workshop aims to upskill the students from the Presidency Foundation skill development Center to better at their art and learn the tricks of the designing trade. The workshop was led by Prof Suvidha and Prof Shahul from Presidency School of design and anchored by Ms Manjutharini D, Trainer at the Center. Students benefitted by learning on 1) How to Derive Inspiration: Focused on developing the designer’s eye — learning how to observe, absorb, and reinterpret the world around you into original fashion ideas. Participants explored methods such as moodboarding, mind-mapping, visual diaries, and sensory exploration exercises. 2) Fashion Anatomy – understanding the human form as a canvas for design. Participants learnt about body proportions, key anatomical landmarks, and how to use this knowledge to design better-fitting, more dynamic garments, how different body types influence drape, fit, and garment construction.

These workshops are helping the students gain on the technicalities which are most crucial in shaping up a designer.
